Life - My first written sermon

Life Why do things dont turn out the way you want them to. Why do you suffer sometimes. "Why" is the question we all ask everytime something doesn't happen the way you plan or want them to. Then, we all blame either someone else or the world around us.

Have you stopped to think about what are you trying your hardest to achieve? What is your number one passion or goal? What is your main priority? Is it a relationship, the right person? Money? Success? Friends? Any type of achievement? Own personal comfort? Or is Becoming what God wants you to become? Loving God first above all else and becoming like Jesus? 

The bible clearly states, "Love the Lord your God above all else, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind". Deuteronomy 6:5.  This is the first and greatest commandment. 

As a loved one once told me, the bible states God is a jeolous God. You will not be completely happy in this world until you place the Lord above all things. And only then, will you feel complete fulfillment despite anything in this world. There is a reason why the world goes round. There is a reason why there is a time to smile and a time to cry. 

To love the Lord with all your heart is to love Jesus with everything you are. And in order to love Jesus, he stated that we need to ask forgiveness for all our sins , and become more like him. Holy. Is your character Holy? Are you on the right track? Are you listening to the Holy Spirit? 

So if there is pain or burden in your life, do you know if God is not trying to change you or put you back on the right track? The Lord loves you so much that he knows the end. He created the world and clearly states if there is any sin in your life you will not, inherit the kingdom of heaven in which he created for us. A place with no sorrow, no pain, or tears. Just pure joy and happiness. Do you really want to be temporary happy with anything else in your life and then go hell forever.

But then you ask yourself, what am I doing wrong? What sin am I doing that is so bad? Am I such a bad person. The truth is we are all born sinners, because of what Adam and Eve has done at the beggining. So that is why God sent his only son, Jesus ( which many says means "God saves" or "The annointed one") in order to die for all sins and wash us clean with his blood. 

Then you repent and the Holy Spirit comes in communion with your spirit. Then you try to live like Jesus, but still life doesn't become what you want it to become like or still are disappointed in something. Is it because you are placing anything else first in your life?. Is because your are choosing your own personal comfort before the Lord. You are loving someone, something, or your children more than the Lord? Or achieving anything more in life rather then have your character like Jesus? 

Well the bible states if you place any of your priority in life more than the Lord, it becomes your idol. Exodus 20:4 states, "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below". 

Therefore reflect upon what you are trying your hardest to do in life. Achieve anything or have a character like Jesus. The Lord will allow you to go through things in life in order to put you in the right track. He knows our tendecies and habits. If God would ask you, do you want to have a perfect relationship and all the riches in this world, but you have to go through all the pain and sorrow for a great ammount of time, would you be willing to? 

That is why he allows us to go through some hard times. In this world you shall have tribulations, but be of good cheer, for the Lord has conquered the world. 

Therefore work daily on your character. More than achieving anything. Love and worship the Lord above all else. Then everything you need will be added to you. 

If today you realize you have not lived the right way, all you have to do is repent of your sins. Pray, "Lord thank for sending Jesus to die for my sin. Forgive me Jesus for putting something else above you and wash my sins away with your blood. Guide me Holy Spirit into the right path in my life"
